The pdFIT™ platform developed by Beneufit offers a comprehensive approach to disease management for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Its primary aim is to mitigate symptoms, delay disease progression, and enhance quality of life through structured exercise interventions and improved medication adherence. The system provides medication reminders and offers insights into how medications influence symptomatology, fostering better compliance and symptom control.

Non-adherence to prescribed medication regimens remains a significant factor contributing to suboptimal symptom management in Parkinson’s disease. Maximizing adherence can substantially improve symptom control and overall quality of life for patients.

The pdFIT™ cycling exercise application now includes a dedicated Medications section tailored specifically for people with Parkinson’s (PwP). Users can select their medications, add relevant notes, set up customizable reminders, and monitor compliance along with any side effects directly within the app. Additionally, medication schedules—including dosage and timing—are displayed via intuitive charts, facilitating easy interpretation. The integration of circleTap™ finger tapping test results with these charts enables users to visualize correlations between motor control performance and their medication regimen.

The circleTap™ finger tapping test within the pdFIT™ system enables users to independently assess their manual dexterity and fine motor skills. This 60-second test draws on established finger tapping assessments used in Parkinson’s clinical research over the past three decades. Its design offers a valid and sensitive measure of bradykinesia, correlating closely with the UPDRS motor score as well as other validated clinical assessments.

Currently, the pdFIT™ system supports Apple mobile devices equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 technology. Compatible devices include iPhone 4S and newer models, iPad 3rd generation and above, iPad mini, and iPod Touch 5th generation.
